Here we are Day 20 of the Schumer Shutdown, and Washington is starting to smell like the compost pile of failed Democratic priorities. Over the weekend, the Left gathered for their much-hyped “No Kings Rally” in D.C. A few dozen people showed up with homemade signs, pretending to defend democracy from the big, bad Republicans. Meanwhile, the real issu,e a government frozen by Chuck Schumer’s stubborn pride, remains untouched.
It’s Monday morning, Chuck. The rallies are over. The hashtags have cooled off. Time to open the government.
A Manufactured Crisis
Democrats love to lecture about “governing responsibly,” yet here we are with hundreds of thousands of Americans furloughed because Schumer would rather play political chicken than pass a clean funding bill. Republicans have made it clear: let’s reopen the government first, then we’ll negotiate. But Schumer wants leverage he’s holding federal workers and taxpayers hostage until he gets expanded health care for illegal aliens.
Let that sink in. Twenty days into this self-inflicted shutdown, Democrats are fighting harder for noncitizens than they are for Americans waiting on paychecks, veterans needing services, and small businesses trying to plan for the quarter.
The “Resistance” Is Running on Fumes
If the weekend’s “No Kings Rally” was any sign, the Resistance movement has lost its roar. A handful of activists, a few megaphones, and the same tired slogans about “democracy dying,” all while their own party leaders are the ones strangling it. The public isn’t buying it anymore. Poll after poll shows Americans are blaming Democrats for this mess, and rightly so.
While Schumer is busy performing outrage on camera, Republicans are focused on results. We want border security, energy independence, fiscal sanity and yes, a functioning government.
Tick-Tock, Chuck
The calendar doesn’t lie. Every day the government stays closed, the Democrats’ moral posturing looks weaker. Americans are asking a simple question: Why are we being punished for your failed agenda?
Chuck, you and your caucus can negotiate all you want on giving free health care to illegal immigrants, but not while you’re holding the country hostage. Americans didn’t elect you to throw tantrums; they elected you to lead.
It’s time to stop the games, stop the grandstanding, and stop using federal employees as pawns in your political theater. The people want their government to be open, their paychecks delivered, and their leaders to act like adults.
So here’s the message, loud and clear:
Tick-tock, Chuck. The clock is running out. Open the government and stop holding America hostage.
