DIRECT LINE W/John “Dragon” Teichert
John Teichert is a recently-retired brigadier general, renowned national security expert, and leadership champion. With extensive experience across military, diplomatic, intelligence, and industrial spheres, John has led teams through some of the most sensitive international relationships and cutting-edge technological advancements. His dynamic leadership style, combined with a genuine love of country, a deep passion for people, and an unwavering drive for progress, has consistently unlocked the creativity and talent of teams at all levels.
John’s journey began in the Pacific Northwest, where an early passion for service and the influence of the movie TOP GUN inspired his desire to fly jets and live on the edge. He pursued engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University before committing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States through the U.S. Air Force.
In his final role with the Air Force, John served as the Assistant Deputy Undersecretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, overseeing worldwide international engagement for both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force. Prior to this, he was the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché to Iraq, playing a crucial role in whole-of-government national security strategy and policy.
John’s illustrious career includes time as an F-15E combat pilot, an F-22 test pilot, and command positions at Joint Base Andrews and Edwards Air Force Base. He has shared his insights on leadership, innovation, risk management, national security, security cooperation, and international affairs through extensive writing and global speaking engagements.
Today, John continues his service alongside his amazing wife Melonie and their three remarkable children.
