It is Time for Jamie to Go!
For years, Maryland’s 8th Congressional District has been represented by Rep. Jamie Raskin, a progressive firebrand who has gained national prominence for his role in high-profile political battles. However, as we look ahead to 2026, it is time to ask an important question: Is Jamie Raskin the right person to represent the diverse and growing needs of our district? Increasingly, the answer appears to be no.
Raskin has made a name for himself on the national stage, but his brand of politics has become increasingly out of step with many in Maryland’s 8th District. His unwavering allegiance to far-left policies, his partisan approach to governance, and his failure to prioritize local concerns over national theatrics all raise serious doubts about whether he deserves another term. Here’s why voters should consider a change:
1. Progressive Policies That Don’t Reflect the District
Raskin has positioned himself as a leader of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, advocating for policies such as the Green New Deal and Medicare for All. While these ideas may resonate with the most liberal factions of the party, they do not reflect the more moderate and pragmatic views of many voters in the 8th District. Marylanders want common-sense solutions, not sweeping, one-size-fits-all government programs that increase costs and regulation.
2. A Record of Partisan Gridlock
Raskin’s political career has been defined by hyper-partisanship. From leading the second impeachment trial of former President Trump to his work on the January 6th committee, Raskin has dedicated much of his tenure to fighting national political battles rather than building bipartisan solutions for Marylanders. We need a representative who can work with both parties to get things done, not one who sees political opponents as enemies to be defeated.
3. Ignoring Local Issues in Favor of National Ambitions
Raskin has also failed to deliver much-needed transportation funding to address congestion on the Beltway and Interstate 270. Marylanders have been stuck in traffic for years with no meaningful improvements, while other states have secured federal dollars for infrastructure projects. Instead of working to bring critical transportation investments to the 8th District, Raskin has focused on national political battles, leaving residents to deal with worsening commutes and deteriorating roads.
While Raskin has been laser-focused on national politics, the 8th District has pressing issues that need attention. From rising crime rates to transportation problems and economic development, many local concerns have taken a backseat in his priorities. Voters deserve a representative who is committed to working on infrastructure, job growth, and quality-of-life improvements here at home—not just making headlines in Washington.
4. Ties to Radical Leftist Groups
Jamie Raskin has maintained connections with some of the most extreme leftist organizations in the country, including groups that advocate for defunding the police, dismantling capitalism, and radical environmental policies that would cripple Maryland’s economy. His close association with groups like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and other far-left organizations calls into question whether he truly represents the interests of everyday Marylanders or the ideological fringes of his party. Voters in the 8th District deserve a representative who is accountable to them, not beholden to radical activists.
5. Questions of Transparency and Ethics
In 2022, Raskin failed to properly disclose a significant financial transaction involving his wife, Sarah Bloom Raskin, who was a Biden administration nominee. This lack of transparency raises questions about his commitment to ethical governance. Marylanders should expect their leaders to be held accountable to the same standards they demand of others.
6. A More Business-Friendly and Pragmatic Approach is Needed
Raskin’s support for higher taxes and strict environmental regulations could make Maryland a less attractive place for businesses and entrepreneurs. At a time when we should be encouraging economic growth and job creation, we cannot afford policies that drive businesses away and make life more expensive for working families.
The time has come for new leadership in the 8th District—someone who prioritizes local concerns over national spectacle, who values bipartisanship over partisan showdowns, and who seeks pragmatic solutions instead of ideological grandstanding. Marylanders deserve better, and in 2026, we have the chance to elect a representative who will put our district first.
The choice is clear: It’s time for a change.
A Call to Action: Defeat Jamie Raskin in 2026
Marylanders in the 8th District cannot afford another term of partisan gridlock, neglected local issues, and extreme policies. The 2026 election presents a crucial opportunity to elect a leader who will truly prioritize the needs of our community. We need a representative who will fight for infrastructure improvements, economic growth, and practical solutions that benefit all Marylanders, not just the ideological fringes.
If you believe in a future with stronger leadership, accountability, and real progress, now is the time to get involved. Whether it’s supporting a challenger, spreading awareness, or encouraging your neighbors to vote, defeating Jamie Raskin must be a top priority. The future of our district depends on it.
