President Bush,

Sir, I may have only been alive for the last two years of your presidency, but let me tell you: they were two solid years. I had snacks in my lunchbox, juice boxes that weren’t criminalized, and a country that, even in tough times, knew who it was and wasn’t ashamed of it.

Then came Barack Hussein Obama and his wife Michelle—who apparently thought the biggest threat to America’s children wasn’t terrorism or declining math scores, but Doritos. Snack time became quinoa time. Freedom gave way to food charts and lectures. And I had to grow up under the kale curtain.

But today’s not about them.
It’s about you, Mr. President.

9/11 and the Measure of a Leader
Your presidency will always be defined by September 11, 2001. And honestly? That’s not a bad legacy to have—because you didn’t run, hide, or blame America. You stood atop the rubble at Ground Zero, bullhorn in hand, arm around a firefighter, and declared to the world: We hear you. The people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon.

And they did.

You kept your promise. You brought justice to terrorists. You unified the nation—not with hashtags, but with action. The Patriot Act, DHS, restructuring our national security—we were safer because you took responsibility, not a poll.

And yeah, the left still throws around the word “war criminal” as if they understood what it’s like to make life-or-death calls in real time. Mistakes? Sure. But weakness wasn’t one of them.

Accomplishments Worth Remembering

  • You passed the Bush tax cuts, giving relief to working families before Bidenomics made groceries a luxury item.
  • You gave us PEPFAR, saving millions of lives around the globe from HIV/AIDS. That’s actual compassion, not just a tweet with a flag emoji.
  • You pushed through No Child Left Behind, at least attempting to hold schools accountable before they became indoctrination centers with coloring books on gender theory.
  • You appointed Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito—ensuring the court leaned closer to the Constitution and not Marx’s playbook.
  • And you led with dignity. No scandals. No “lost” laptops. No “10% for the big guy.”

To the Original Election Deniers
And now, let’s talk about the “he stole the election” crowd—you know, the original election deniers. Before it was cool.

I’m talking to:

  • Hillary Clinton, who still roams the Earth claiming she really won in 2016.
  • Al Gore, who tried to cherry-pick counties and redefine recount rules until reality slapped him with the Electoral College.
  • Alan Lichtman, the Nostradamus knockoff who still insists Bush “wasn’t really elected.” (Alan, buddy, go find your car keys and a sense of shame.)
  • Every Democrat who clung to the Florida hanging chads like they were holy relics.

Let’s be clear:
Every. Single. Recount.
Confirmed Bush won Florida in 2000.

Yet 20+ years later, the same people screaming “threat to democracy” have never accepted the results of that election. Isn’t it funny how “denying election results” only became a crime when Republicans started doing it?

So President Bush, I salute you on your birthday. You were a man of faith, principle, and quiet strength. You didn’t chase the cameras. You didn’t sell merch with your face on it. And you certainly didn’t try to ban chocolate milk in elementary school.

Compared to your dad? Better.
Compared to Obama? Much better.
Compared to Joe Biden? Is that even a question?

Happy Birthday, President Bush.
From one Texan-at-heart to another—thank you for reminding us what real leadership looks like.
