Let me break it to you gently, New York: you just handed the Democratic nomination for mayor—of the biggest city in America—to a man whose political playbook seems to be a mix of Stalin, AOC, and the worst parts of TikTok.
I’m talking about Zohran Mamdani, your new Democratic nominee for mayor. Yes, the same guy who says “state-run grocery stores” with a straight face, who wants to abolish the police, who curses more than a sailor on shore leave, and who thinks it’s the job of the Mayor of New York City to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
This isn’t political satire. This is the actual Democratic nominee. The man could become the next mayor of New York City.
Let’s pause here. Because maybe people forgot what the job of mayor actually is. Spoiler alert: it’s not to shout “F Trump” at every press conference like you’re doing open mic night at a Brooklyn dive bar. It’s not to post Instagram reels of yourself calling for the arrest of world leaders you don’t like. And it’s certainly not to reinvent the wheel with Soviet-style grocery chains that sound like they were brainstormed in a first-year Marxism seminar.
The mayor’s real job? It’s things like balancing the city budget. Managing city agencies. Coordinating public safety. Keeping the subway from turning into a real-life version of Mad Max. Picking up trash. Ensuring the fire department is funded. Overseeing public education. Planning infrastructure upgrades. Dealing with traffic congestion, homelessness, mental health crises, and—you know—governing. Not throwing Molotov cocktails of rhetoric into an already strained city.
But let’s look at what Mamdani actually proposes—and why it’s terrifying that millions of people just voted for him in a Democratic primary.
1. He Wants State-Run Grocery Stores
No joke. Mamdani has literally proposed that the city of New York open and operate its own grocery store chain. Because, apparently, what’s missing in your daily life is city workers handing you expired tomatoes while quoting Marx.
Let me be clear: this is not “just another progressive idea.” This is pure, uncut, Soviet-era economics. What happens when you put the same bureaucracy that can’t fix potholes in charge of fresh produce? You get long lines, empty shelves, and spoiled food—while taxpayers foot the bill for the inefficiency.
If Mamdani were mayor in the 1980s, he’d be the guy telling you why East Berlin’s grocery system was “more equitable.”
2. He Wants to Defund (Actually, Abolish) the Police
It’s not a buzzword. It’s his actual plan. Mamdani wants to dismantle the NYPD and “reimagine” public safety. That means replacing trained officers with social workers, “conflict resolution specialists,” and—what was the phrase?—“community-based accountability teams.”
You know what that means? If there’s a violent crime in your neighborhood, you won’t get a cop. You’ll get a pamphlet and maybe a Zoom call with a restorative justice counselor. Meanwhile, crime continues to spike, and good luck walking through Central Park without being mugged before you hit 72nd Street.
People forget: public safety is not optional in a city of 8.5 million. It’s fundamental. You can’t talk about equity, justice, jobs, or economic growth if your citizens don’t feel safe riding the train or walking their kids to school.
3. He’s Profane, Unprofessional, and a Walking Culture War
Let’s be real. Mamdani makes your average high school cafeteria sound like a church sermon. He cannot speak without dropping the F-word. He’s turned swearing into punctuation. And for some reason, his base loves it—as if cursing out political opponents makes him “authentic.”
I call it what it is: performative vulgarity. It’s not passion—it’s political theater. And it’s beneath the dignity of the mayor’s office.
Say what you will about former mayors like Bloomberg or Giuliani—at least they acted like adults. Mamdani is the guy you unfollow on social media because he posts 17 story rants a day full of expletives and blurry protest selfies.
4. He’s Obsessed with Israel—and Not in a Good Way
Here’s where things go from “radical” to dangerous. Mamdani has publicly supported efforts to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He’s waved signs at pro-Palestinian rallies that blame Israel for everything short of climate change. He’s even refused to condemn groups that chant genocidal slogans.
This is not foreign policy nuance. This is straight-up anti-Semitism, cloaked in activist language.
New York City has one of the largest Jewish populations outside of Israel. And now they may be governed by a man who demonizes Israel at every opportunity, who cheered on bridge blockades and campus chaos, and who seems more interested in protesting America’s allies than addressing crime in Harlem.
If a Republican said half the things Mamdani has said, the media would be in DEFCON-1 meltdown. But because he’s “progressive,” we’re told to applaud his “courage.”
5. He’s the Face of a Party That Has Lost Its Mind
Mamdani isn’t some fringe guy running on a third-party line. He’s the Democratic nominee for mayor of America’s largest city.
Think about that.
The Democratic Party that once nominated people like Ed Koch, David Dinkins, and even Eric Adams (who at least tried to be tough on crime) has now handed the torch to a full-blown socialist who reads like a Twitter parody.
If this is the future of the party, then it’s not liberal—it’s leftist, radical, and un-American.
Let’s Be Honest…
When voters in flyover states hear about Mamdani, they shake their heads and say, “This is why we vote Republican.” Because Republicans, for all our faults, don’t nominate communists who want to shut down grocery competition and abolish police departments.
This is the same Democratic Party that talks about “saving democracy” while nominating a man who thinks freedom of speech doesn’t apply to people he disagrees with, property rights are optional, and the rule of law is just another colonial relic.
We are witnessing a great political unraveling. The adults have left the room, and the children have taken over—with bullhorns, protest signs, and a romanticized vision of failed regimes.
Final Thought
New Yorkers, you get what you vote for. If you want a mayor who governs, who fixes problems, who makes the subways run on time and keeps the streets safe—then you’d better wake up. Because if you elect Zohran Mamdani, what you’re going to get is a loud, angry activist who thinks slogans are policies and TikTok is a governing strategy.
The mayor’s office is not a protest stage. It’s not a dorm room manifesto. It’s not the place for Instagram Lives about “late-stage capitalism.” It’s a full-time job that affects millions of lives.
And Mamdani? He’s not ready for the job.
Oh—and one last thing: when New York inevitably implodes under this guy’s “leadership,” please don’t all move to Connecticut. We already have enough blue votes, high taxes, and organic grocery stores. If you want to flee socialism, try New Jersey or Rhode Island. Or better yet—vote smarter and fix your own city and state.
